Andrew is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt with over 15 years of continuous mat experience, now offering private 1-on-1 martial arts instruction in Okemos, Lansing, and East Lansing.
Over two decades in Los Angeles, California, his progression from white to black belt was forged directly under sport icons and elite instructors, earning his blue and purple belts from Professor Shawn Williams (Renzo Gracie Lineage) and his brown and black belts from Professor Ricardo "Franjinha" Miller (Paragon BJJ Founder & Alliance Lineage).
Alongside mentoring from Shawn Flanery and training with legends like Henry Akins, Jeff Glover, Bill Cooper, Sean Apperson, and Pride FC veteran Jorge Oliveira, Andrew developed a detailed, leverage-based teaching system.
Andrew honed his teaching skills while serving as one of the main instructors at Hollywood BJJ for over 15 years, instructing both group classes & private lessons. He specializes in working with beginners new to the martial art and helping to lay a solid base of fundamental skills. Andrew was also an active BJJ competitor through Purple Belt.
